It is the first time since 1996 that a top-notch international sportscar series will visit the Kent venue. For the occasion, the 3.915 km Grand Prix circuit will be used. For the British round of the Blancpain Sprint Series, the grid of impressive GT machinery will be extended, with now 22 cars and no less than seven manufacturers represented.

The F. A. Lange Watchmaking Excellence Award, a project to promote talented young watchmakers, now entered its 5th round. Eight up-and-coming watchmakers from Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Finland and the USA are competing to win a cash prize of 10,000 Euros. The task is to construct a moon-phase display based on the standard ETA 6498 calibre. They now have time until beginning of October to come up with a design solution.

Monday May 12, 2014, at the occasion of the auction organized by Christie’s, Marc A. Hayek, President & CEO of Montres Breguet SA, acquired two emblematic lots: the Breguet no°4039, an extremely fine half quarter repeating watch with eccentric hour dial and the indication of the date, and the extremely rare Breguet Tourbillon no°1176 which belonged to Count Potocki. The latter is exceptional in its own right since it is the third tourbillon watch and the very first four-minute tourbillon ever made by Abraham-Louis Breguet. That is more than 5 times its original selling price and far beyond the value that experts of Christie’s auction house had expected. Also 5 times the original selling price reached a LANGE 1 with a stainless steel case. It was sold for 82,150 Euro (100,000 Swiss francs) at the same auction. Congratulations to the lucky bidders!
