This self-winding watch is limited to 200 copies and is distinguished by its platinum case. Furthermore, its hand-guilloché gold oscillating weight features a two-tone black and rhodiumed exterior. The gold dial, in matt black, indicates the hours and minutes, with the chronograph seconds and minutes hands in the centre.

Since 2012, we have been supporting this prestigious competition. Also in this year, the winner of the “Best of Show” category will receive a unique A. Lange & Söhne timepiece – the LANGE 1 TIME ZONE “Como Edition”– showcased here together with Frank Stella’s 1976 BMW Art Car 02, which is part of the “40 Years BMW Art Cars” exhibition, a highlight of this year’s Concorso.

In order for VIP guests to understand these developments, a Breguet executive from the Manufacture (Vallée de Joux, Switzerland) explained their functions through a theoretical presentation and experiential showcases. In addition, invitees had the chance to test a selection of watches featuring these technologies, such as models Type XXII and Classique Chronométrie, both beating at a 10Hz frequency.

Focus On The Blancpain Tourbillon Carrousel L-Evolution

Watch the video here! http://goo.gl/KTTQhZBlancpain made a splash at the 2015 edition of Baselworld by unveiling a contemporary and even futuristic variation of its famous tourbillon carrousel model. The new L-Evolution Tourbillon Carrousel integrates the two complications designed to increase the accuracy of a movement. This brand is the only one who daring enough to marry these two mechanisms. But until now, it was only available in very classic, traditional versions. The L-Evolution breaks the rules even with the shape of the case! Indeed, the movement was first skeletonized in an unusual and very edgy way. This makes it look more like a fractal spiderweb than any other watch on the market. The movement components were embellished with a frosted dark grey finished. In addition, and to out them in the spotlight, the cages of both the tourbillon and the carrousel were elevated a few milimeters so that they look like they come right out of the movement. The sides of the case were softened to create appropriate resonance with the design of the caliber and the hands. As an UWO – “Unknown Watch Object” – the L-Evolution Tourbillon Carrousel was disruptive. But having a deeper and closer look at it allows it to become a singular aesthetic pleasure. Breguet bolstered its presence at Neiman Marcus in Atlanta, GA by opening a Breguet Salon– the first boutique of its kind for the specialty retailer. A cocktail reception was held on the evening of May 7th at the new Breguet Salon. VIP guests were invited to a private inauguration evening, who received a first-hand look at Breguet’s newest novelties recently launched at Baselworld.

In addition to these sneak peaks, guests also enjoyed learning about Breguet craftsmanship with a demonstration presented on a newly crafted Breguet Watchmaker’s Bench. Flown in from the Breguet Manufacture in Switzerland in time for this event, the bench is modeled after the original watchmaker’s desk used by A.-L. Breguet (1747-1823) at his famed workshop in Paris, France, dating back to 1775. This particular desk is exceptional as it is made of wood from the favorite oak tree of Queen Marie-Antoinette, one of Breguet’s most famous clients.
